We thought we would share with you a selection of small independent brands that we don't stock in our shop but really love to give you some inspiration for gifting this Christmas.
This identical twin sister duo makes great pieces celebrating the female form in a fun yet delicate way. I have already got a one of Liv & Doms sleeping incense holder and this candle stick holder is next on my list!
Lu Flux uses age old British craft practices such as patchwork, quilting, smocking and hand embroidery to make lovely unique and feminine products.
I have always admired Lu's work - these placemats are at the top of Christmas list to make my new dining table look fancy. You can buy Lu Flux pieces from Cutter Brooks.
Zoe and I met years ago when we were next to each other at London Fashion Week and have been a fan ever since. Having studied shoe design I am very particular with the shoes I like but I absolutely love every one of Zoes! She has a beautiful shop in Paris and always love to pop by when I'm in the city.
Clara - one of the co-founders of the brand and I met many moons ago when we both traded at Spitalfields Market. Clara made beautiful hand beaded jewellery, I was so thrilled when she went on to launch O Pioneers creating the dresses that dreams are made of - all loving made in the UK.
I came across this company when I was picking up some delicious lunch from on of our neighbours - 119 cafe where their beautiful prints caught my eye. The sisters have lovingly restored archive prints to create elegant designs.
One of my best pals Karin makes the best jewellery. Handmade in Hackney Karin makes beautiful timeless pieces that she sells at broadway market and on her website - my go to for Christmas gifts.
Ihenie is the brand launched by Ida - lots of you may know her as she worked with me for many years. Ida is lovely hand knitting all her pieces from dead stock wool. Each and every piece is dreamy and of course being the bag expert there are some gorgeous hand knitted bags.
I discovered Clare Packers work on Instagram and fell in love with her muse paper cut artworks. This lead me to find the brilliant gallery that showcases her work - Kittoe Contemporary Limited, who also features many other fantastic artists including Claudia Bonney. Take a look for yourself as I'm sure you will begin a love affair too.
The Slow Folk Club
My mate Tash has started a new venture making hand knitted childrenswear using the finest British wool. The colour palette and finish is amazing. You can find her beautiful wears at the wonderful Triangle Store.
One of my favourite Instagram discoveries of recent times. Calamint keep selling out of their dreamy nightdresses before I have chance to get my hands on them. Anyone who knows me the minute I get in the house my nightdress is on and these are so beautiful I don't think I will limit it to indoor wear only. Check out their Etsy Shop but don't steal my future nighty.
Last but not least is the beautiful work of Élan Bryd. I love her Woven Textiles inspired by cultural commonalities of ancient civilisations.
I hope this may have inspired you to shop small this festive season!
